But wait again, you thought the appeal of a Keurig was that you didn't have to buy hundreds of coffee filters. And it doesn't, but there is an option to use Keurig's reusable coffee filter. More on that later.
The second filter is a water filter.
The general consensus is that filtered tap water is the best type of water for your Keurig. Personally, the tap water I live in isn't the best and I don't have the best system for filtering minerals out of tap water. This is why I use bottled water to brew coffee in my Keurig.
Unless you have the best tap water and don't want to use bottled water like I do, you might want a Keurig water filter right on your machine.

Do all Keurig machines have a water filter?
Technically no. Keurig brew systems do not ship with a water filter. Instead, there is space for a water filter in most removable water tanks on coffee machine models. The water filters are held by one of the three handles on the water filters. The size of the handle depends on the Keurig machine you have in your kitchen.

Does the Keurig Mini or K-Mini Plus have a water filter?

The tall handle water filter kit is for Keurig machines with a water reservoir taller than 20cm.
Short handle water filter starter kit
Contains:

The Short Handle Water Filter Kit is for Keurig machines with a water reservoir less than 20 cm.
Classic K water filter starter kit
Contains:
- A water filter handle
- of filter cartridges
The K Classic water filter is only compatible with machines made before the 2.0 line. Also, it's bulkier and more obvious than the other two options.
Keurig water filter cartridges
Keurig water filter cartridges are carbon based filters. These activated carbon filters remove chlorine, calcium and other impurities from your water to give you the best possible coffee taste.
How often do I need to change my water filter?
Replaceable water filters should be changed every two months to ensure they continue to perform at their best. Only the cartridge needs to be changed, not the handle of the water filter.
How do I change my Keurig water filter?
Before replacing your water filter, soak the new filter cartridge in water for five minutes and then rinse the cartridge under cold water for 60 seconds. Next, take the water filter unit out of the water tank and remove the old filter cartridge from below.
To open the water filter handle, remove the lower filter holder from the upper filter holder. Replace the old cartridge with the new one and reattach the filter handle. Put the water filter handle back into the water tank and press firmly to lock the filter handle.
Does Keurig offer a reusable water filter?
No, Keurig does not offer a reusable water filter option. Carbon water filter cartridges are designed to be discarded after two months. While the cartridges aren't reusable, the handle of the water filter is.
Always include the water filter handle in your regular Keurig machine cleaning routine. The water filter handle can be washed with dish soap and warm water.
Clean coffee filter
I know the appeal of a Keurig machine is not having to deal with ground coffee and coffee filters. Why am I mentioning it now?
Keurig offers the option of using your own ground coffee with a special filter.
Need a coffee filter for your Keurig?
No. If you use a K-cup pod with your Keurig, you don't have to worry about using a coffee filter. If you want to use your own ground coffee beans, you can do so with theMy K-Cup Universal Reusable Coffee Filter(available seperately).
To use the K-Cup reusable coffee filter, fill the filter to the max line with your favorite ground coffee. Insert the K-Cup filter into your Keurig like a typical K-Cup and brew as usual. Before you know it, you'll have a fresh cup of coffee.
Is my machine compatible with the My K-Cup reusable universal coffee filter?
